Hey there and welcome to Build Groove! If you're new here, my name is Sally Mae, the founder and owner of this digital agency.

I launched Build Groove on June 2021 to be the go-to digital agency of new entrepreneurs who want to build and launch their online business. As an entrepreneur, I know how overwhelming it is to build a business from scratch and I'm here to show you that given the right tools and technology, the entire journey can be simple! You can count on me to help you bring your business idea into fruition by providing solutions on tech, marketing or strategy suitable for your business.

About Sally Mae

Sometimes, you just got to take that leap of faith to make your dream a reality.

I have a degree in Computer Science and I've been in the IT industry since 2005 as a Software Engineer (Java). It's been more than 16 years and I'm lucky to be one of those that do love their jobs. I like to learn new tools and technology and implement what I learned from them. Despite these things, it was always in my goal to have my own business. I tried to start some small business with my family when I was still in the Philippines, but due to some logistics, they never really panned out. Throughout those time though, and aside from my fulltime job, blogging is one thing that has always been part of my life.

I got introduced to blogging way back in college. It was during those time when Blurrty, Blogspot and Livejournal were the big platforms, and they became my friends and I's online diaries. All my posts revolved around personal things: college life, friends and families and I enjoyed sharing stories to people online, whether I know them or not.

Niche Blogging and Turning My Blog into a Business

In 2011, I decided to start a fashion blog. I named it "The Budget Fashion Seeker" and it revolves around everything budget-friendly under the topics of fashion, beauty, and lifestyle. It was only a hobby for me that time, but then I noticed that I get invitations to events as well as brand collaborations that I got curious on how to turn it into a bit more serious side hustle.

I moved to the US in 2016 and after living here for a year, I joined the Denver Bloggers Club. That amazing group opened my eyes on the ability of a blog to become a legitimate business. People I met there have been earning for years with their blogging business and I've attended the workshops and events to learn more, while supplementing it with my own research. I started to earn from some collaborations and affiliate marketing that I became a member of and in 2020, I decided to take a leap of faith and registered my own business (Be Meatless, LLC). Right now, I operate all the blogs and websites that I own under this business name.
